Softball Game Preview: Dwight Trojans vs. Prairie Central Hawks

The Dwight Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Prairie Central Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Dwight's last matchup with St. Bede could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. Dwight came up short against St. Bede, falling 13-1. The Trojans have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Mckenna Woodcock made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Prairie Central didn't have quite enough to beat Herscher on Tuesday and fell 10-8.

Rylee Galloway was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyah Creek, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Dwight's record now sits at 0-2. As for Prairie Central, their record is now 1-1.

Dwight took their victory against Prairie Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2. Will Dwight repeat their success, or does Prairie Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
