Football Game Preview: Hiram Hornets vs. M.L. King Lions

Two dominant backs in Dylan Maina and Jamarcus Harper are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After both having extra time off, the Hiram Hornets and the M.L. King Lions will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. Hiram has given up an average of 30 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hiram had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least 31 points, but Cartersville put an end to it last Friday. The Hornets had to suffer through a 50-7 loss at the hands of the Hurricanes. The Hornets have struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, M.L. King had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 40-0. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won five contests by 24 points or more so far this season.

Hiram's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for M.L. King, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
