Recap: Baker County Wildcats vs. Fernandina Beach Pirates
The Baker County Wildcats's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 49-42 win over Fernandina Beach. For Baker County, this counts as revenge for the 65-61 defeat Fernandina Beach walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Baker County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Carver, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carver has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Anthony Washington, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Baker County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. As for Fernandina Beach, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.
Baker County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Union County at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Fernandina Beach, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on KIPP Bold City at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th.
