Softball Recap: Ralston Valley's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ralston Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Bear Creek Bears. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Nina Renk made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Stella Emnott, who went 3-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. Kat Mastriona was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Ralston Valley's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-7. As for Bear Creek, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
