Baseball Game Preview: Pleasant Valley Bears vs. Louis E. Dieruff Huskies

Pleasant Valley has gone a perfect 6-0 against Louis E. Dieruff recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bears will look to defend their home field against the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Pleasant Valley and 12 for Louis E. Dieruff dating back to last season.

Pleasant Valley fell victim to Nazareth Area and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Blue Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Louis E. Dieruff came up short against Emmaus on Monday, falling 16-1.

Louis E. Dieruff saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johan Duarte, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run. That triple was Duarte's first of the season.

Louis E. Dieruff's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Pleasant Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Pleasant Valley's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Bears have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Louis E. Dieruff, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Pleasant Valley continue to outrun the ball?
