Basketball Recap: Bayside Comes Up Short

Bayside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Armwood Hawks and fell 79-42.

Bayside's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kody Grodecky, who posted eight points and five boards. Justin Redd also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Armwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sebastien Lefranc, who shot 64% from the field on his way to 18 points. Lefranc has also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 45% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Damian Williams, who went 7-for-8 en route to 15 points and five rebounds.

Bayside's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Armwood, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Bayside has already played their next contest, a 75-31 defeat against Balboa on the 29th. As for Armwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 88-64 victory against Morgan on the 29th.
