St. Petersburg won the last time they faced Countryside and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Green Devils walked away with a 57-44 win over the Cougars. The Green Devils pushed the score to 45-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

St. Petersburg found their leader in sophomore Shaw Summer, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. Quay Curry was another key player, putting up ten points.

Countryside lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Julia Smith, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia DeSano, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 14 points.

The victory made it two in a row for St. Petersburg and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Countryside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. St. Petersburg won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Dunedin at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Countryside, they will face off against Tarpon Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
