Football Recap: Mandeville Comes Up Short

Mandeville and Neville squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mandeville had to settle for second. They took a hard 31-14 fall against the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Skippers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Tigers are ranked tenth).

Neville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ja'Marion Roberson, who rushed for 56 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries, and also picked up 65 receiving yards. The Tigers also got help from Ze'Land Young, who showed off his sure hands for 95 receiving yards.

Mandeville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Neville, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Mandeville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Neville, they will take on Barbe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Buccaneers have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests.
