Football Recap: Hackley Takes a Loss

Hackley was the 33-0 winner over Riverdale Country when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hornets took a 30-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons on Saturday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Riverdale Country's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Cohen led the charge by rushing for 109 yards and one touchdown. With that strong performance, Cohen is now averaging an impressive 101.2 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Nemo, who rushed for 37 yards and a pair of scores.

Hackley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Riverdale Country, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Hackley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Riverdale Country, they will square off against Morristown-Beard at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Crimson's defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them.
