Softball Recap: First Colonial's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask First Colonial). They never let the Norview Pilots get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Monday. The Patriots not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 3, 2024.

Tori Rodriguez was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aimee Ord, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

First Colonial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

First Colonial's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Norview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, First Colonial will be playing in front of their home fans against Princess Anne at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Princess Anne has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something First Colonial will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Norview, they will take on Maury at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
