Softball Recap: Lake Region Thunder vs. Citrus Hurricanes

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lake Region had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They blew past the Citrus Hurricanes 10-3. The win was nothing new for Lake Region as they're now sitting on four straight.

Elisa Charles was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Margaret Jenkins, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

On Citrus' side, Alyssa Turner was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Alicia Demott was another key contributor, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Lake Region has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Citrus, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-8.

Lake Region will square off against Eau Gallie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Lake Region: 2.7, Eau Gallie: 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Citrus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
