Flag Football Recap: Lakewood Takes a Loss

Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 14-7 to the Denver North Vikings.

Saylor Slaughter threw for 221 yards and one touchdown. Caroline Bane was her top target, picking up 103 receiving yards.

Denver North can attribute much of their success to Arianna Gallegos, who threw for 201 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes. What's more, Gallegos posted two passing touchdowns, the most she's had since back in September.

Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Denver North, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Lakewood will face off against Elizabeth at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Denver North, they will challenge Regis Groff at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
