Columbia started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-18.
Bishop Kelly will have to keep a close watch on Jessi Meaden and Alera Gibson, a pair of players who had a big impact on Columbia's prior game. Meaden had 22 digs and two assists, while Gibson had 13 kills, five digs, and three blocks.
Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Bishop Kelly, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.
Bishop Kelly took their win against Columbia in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
