Volleyball Recap: Cobden Finds Home Court Redemption Against Century

There's no place like home for Cobden, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Century Centurions on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Appleknockers: when they faced off against the Centurions back in September, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

While Cobden won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-9, 26-24.

Alivia Kilpatrick paced Cobden's offense, picking up 12 kills. Kilpatrick got some help from Amelia Long and her 27 assists.

Century's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaicey Edwards, who had 15 digs and two assists, and Kinsleigh Green, who had seven digs.

Cobden now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Century, their record now sits at 12-17.

Coming up, Cobden will face off against Goreville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blackcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Appleknockers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Century, they will square off against Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
