Volleyball Recap: Encinal Takes a Loss

Encinal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Castro Valley Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Encinal took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-15, 25-19.

Courtney Seiji was a one-woman wrecking crew For Castro Valley. as she had seven digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Seiji a new career-high. Joanna Li also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Encinal's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Castro Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Encinal has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Piedmont on the 16th. As for Castro Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Alameda on the 17th.
