Volleyball Recap: SouthLake Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Tuesday. SouthLake Christian Academy fell 3-1 to Gaston Christian. The loss continues a trend for SouthLake Christian Academy in their meetings with Gaston Christian: they've now lost four in a row.

SouthLake Christian Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-17.

Leading Gaston Christian to victory were Peyton Hunsucker and Hayden Parsons. Hunsucker had 14 assists and eight digs, while Parsons had six digs and three aces. That's the most aces Parsons has posted since September 5th.

SouthLake Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Gaston Christian, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. SouthLake Christian Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Concord Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Gaston Christian will take on rival Westminster Catawba Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
