Basketball Recap: Weatherford's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Weatherford unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 49-40 to the Mansfield Legacy Broncos. While losing is never fun, the Kangaroos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Broncos are ranked 106th).

Weatherford's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landrie Polk, who posted 16 points. Polk's morning made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Maddison Baruch, who earned six points and 13 rebounds.

Weatherford's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Mansfield Legacy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11.

Weatherford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-26 loss against North Crowley on the 7th. As for Mansfield Legacy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-47 defeat against Boswell on the 3rd.
