Volleyball Recap: Holcomb Extends Winning Streak to Three

Holcomb waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Syracuse Bulldogs by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Longhorns also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Holcomb took both sets by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-10.

Malia Ruda paced Holcomb's offense, picking up six kills. Ruda got some help from Bella Galliart and her eight assists. Makayla Tolbert controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Holcomb's win bumped their record up to 22-4. As for Syracuse, their loss ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7.

Holcomb didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Cimarron on the 4th. As for Syracuse, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Stanton County on the 4th.
