Recap: Hagerstown Tigers vs. Winchester Community Golden Falcons
The Hagerstown Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. The contest between them and Winchester Community wasn't particularly close, with Hagerstown falling 64-48. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hagerstown in their matchups with Winchester Community: they've now lost five in a row.
Hagerstown's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Schmitz, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals. It was the first time this season that Schmitz pulled down eight or more rebounds. Anthony Kelley was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five assists and two steals.
Hagerstown dropped their record down to 4-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Winchester Community, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-9.
Hagerstown will head out on the road to challenge Muncie Burris at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Muncie Burris focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Saturday. As for Winchester Community, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lapel at 7:30 p.m. Lapel will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Winchester Community surely won't give up without a fight.
