Basketball Recap: Our Lady of Good Counsel Takes a Loss

Our Lady of Good Counsel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-58 heartbreaker at the hands of the Steward Spartans.

Steward's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Xavier Nelson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Nelson has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Richardson, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points.

Our Lady of Good Counsel's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Steward, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Our Lady of Good Counsel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-60 win against John Carroll on the 28th. As for Steward, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-51 loss against St. Christopher's on the 28th.
