Preview: Orem Tigers vs. Springville Red Devils

Orem has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Springville Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Orem's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.

On Tuesday, Orem faced Timpview in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Orem strolled past Timpview with points to spare, taking the game 66-48. The score was all tied up 25-25 at the break, but Orem was the better team in the second half.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orem to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jax Allen, who scored 14 points along with eight assists. That's the first time this season that Allen posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Asher Young, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Meanwhile, Springville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 56-52 to Timpview.

Orem pushed their record up to 9-5 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for Springville, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-6.
