Basketball Recap: Hemlock's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hemlock had won three straight games and Victoria Hauffe did her part to make it four on Tuesday. The Hemlock Huskies claimed a resounding 81-44 win over the St. Charles Bulldogs thanks in part to Hauffe, who went 9 of 17 en route to 24 points and seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played dating back to last season.

Klaira Salo was another key player, putting up 13 points and five assists. That's the most points she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, St. Charles saw an underclassman step up: freshman Abrielle Dinninger posted ten points and four steals. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for Dinninger. Another player making a difference was Nicole Zelinko, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points and four steals.

Hemlock's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.3 points. As for St. Charles, they moved to 6-1 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Hemlock will challenge Michigan Lutheran Seminary at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hemlock's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for St. Charles, they will face off against Coleman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
