Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Catholic Takes Down Oxbridge Academy in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Santa Fe Catholic had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves 65-27. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 22 points or more this season.

Santa Fe Catholic was led to victory by Tate Darner and Toby Lane. Darner went 8-for-14 to rack up 21 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds, while Lane went 7-for-12 en route to 19 points and four steals. The match was Darner's 12th in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Lackey, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

The win (which was Santa Fe Catholic's 11th in a row) raised their record to 20-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points over those games. As for Oxbridge Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-14.
