Softball Recap: Silas Has No Trouble Against River Ridge

Silas hadn't done well against River Ridge recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Rams blew past the Hawks 16-10. Considering the Rams have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Natalie Medalia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits. Medalia was even better at the plate, firing off one home run, three triples, and eight RBI while going 4-for-4. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Silas got a massive performance out of Tatum Butterfield, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits Butterfield has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Cailey Howell, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Silas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .410. They are 8-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Silas and bumps their season record up to 8-13. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for River Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Silas nor River Ridge have any future games scheduled.
