Pompano Beach dropped down to 10-9 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles, falling 9-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Golden Tornadoes were not able to get on the board.

As for Calvary Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games.

For Calvary Christian Academy's part, Owen Martinez looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Martinez has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Preston Bielec, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Giancarlo Rivera also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

While Pompano Beach had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
