Basketball Game Preview: Ware Shoals Hornets vs. GREEN Upstate Owls

The Ware Shoals Hornets will square off against the GREEN Upstate Owls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ware Shoals knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully GREEN Upstate likes a good challenge.

Ware Shoals is headed into the match having just posted their biggest victory since December 14, 2023 on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind 62-17.

Jace Stewart went supernova for Ware Shoals, putting up 23 points in addition to four steals and four blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stewart has scored at least a third of Ware Shoals' points. Another player making a difference was Jayce Medlin, who posted ten points and seven steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for GREEN Upstate, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 40-32 win over First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest on Monday. The 40-point effort marked the Owls' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

GREEN Upstate now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Ware Shoals, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
