Basketball Game Preview: Tahoka Bulldogs vs. Abernathy Antelopes

The Tahoka Bulldogs will square off against the Abernathy Antelopes at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Tahoka has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Abernathy will arrive with eight straight victories.

Tahoka came up short against New Deal on Tuesday, falling 63-40.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Abernathy). They claimed a resounding 99-13 win over Post. Abernathy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Abernathy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.1 points per game. As for Tahoka, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-18.

Tahoka was dealt a bruising 72-20 loss at the hands of Abernathy when the teams last played on January 7th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Abernathy's Mecailin Marshall, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 15 boards.
