Volleyball Recap: Nokomis Redskins vs. Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians
Nokomis and Carlyle squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Nokomis had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Indians/Lady Indians by a score of 2-1. It was the first time this season that the Redskins let down their fans at home.
Nokomis might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Carlyle: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 22-25, 28-26.
Addison Glenn paced Nokomis' offense, picking up 21 kills. Glenn got some help from Kinley Stolte and her 41 assists. Maddison Dewerff controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Carlyle found their leader in sophomore Caybri Pollmann, who had 14 assists and three digs.
The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 33-3. As for Carlyle, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-10 record this season.
As of now, neither Nokomis nor Carlyle have any future games scheduled.
