Basketball Recap: South River Takes a Loss

South River lost against Spotswood back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The South River Rams lost to the Spotswood Chargers on the road by a 80-65 margin. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Rams came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Chargers are ranked 308th).

This is the second loss in a row for South River and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Spotswood, they moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While South River had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
