Baseball Recap: Seekonk Triumphs

After only two runs in their last match, Seekonk made sure to put some runs up on the board against Old Rochester Regional on Friday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Warriors' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Jack Lasalle tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Jonathan Tawa was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Connor Flynn was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Seekonk's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Old Rochester Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Seekonk is set to square off against their familiar foe Case at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Old Rochester Regional will face off against rival Dighton-Rehoboth Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
