Softball Recap: Port Clinton Redskins vs. Lake Flyers

Port Clinton was the 3-1 winner over Lake when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Port Clinton Redskins fell 7-4 to the Lake Flyers on Friday.

Ashton Sanchez put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off 12 hits (and only one walk). Sanchez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in 21 consecutive pitching appearances. Sanchez was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Sanchez wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Port Clinton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. As for Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.
