Baseball Recap: Slocum Comes Up Short

Slocum was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 18-5 to the Groveton Indians, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-5 on Tuesday.

Slocum's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Groveton, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Slocum will host Brazos Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Slocum has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Groveton, they will face off against Hemphill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
