Football Game Preview: Edison Red Raiders vs. Central Rockets

Edison is a perfect 10-0 against Central since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Edison Red Raiders will look to defend their home field against the Central Rockets at 3:30 p.m. Edison is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

On Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Edison beat Hialeah Gardens 18-13.

Edison's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rakyia Louis led the charge by throwing for 248 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.5% of her passes. Louis is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: she's passed for at least three every time she's taken the field this season. A healthy portion of Louis' aerial production (105 yards to be exact) went to Malayisa David.

Another reason for the win was Edison's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Jennifer Burton was especially locked on to Hialeah Gardens' QB and sacked her four times.

Meanwhile, Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by American and fell 31-0.

Edison's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.2 points over those games. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Edison barely slipped by Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 13-12. Does Edison have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
