Preview: Middle Early College Kats vs. McKinley Macks
The Middle Early College Kats will be playing at home against the McKinley Macks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Middle Early College will be strutting in after a victory while McKinley will be coming in after a loss.
Even though East scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Middle Early College still came out on top. Middle Early College strolled past East with points to spare, taking the game 75-57. The victory was just what Middle Early College needed coming off of a 75-42 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, McKinley lost to Health Sciences Charter at home by a decisive 63-46 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, McKinley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while Health Sciences Charter is ranked 99th).
Middle Early College's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3. As for McKinley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Middle Early College was taken down by McKinley 93-61 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Middle Early College avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
