Softball Recap: Union Grove Starts Season with Win Against Kenosha Tremper

Union Grove had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Kenosha Tremper Trojans with a sharp 13-3 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won three in a row.

Ciara Hage spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits.

At the plate, Union Grove got a massive performance out of River Jamison, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI Jamison has posted since back in April of 2024. Ella Erickson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Jamison wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Union Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kenosha Tremper only managed four hits.

Union Grove and Kenosha Tremper will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Union Grove will square off against rival Badger at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Kenosha Tremper is set to challenge their familiar foe Kenosha Bradford at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
