Baseball Recap: Gadsden County Comes Up Short

Gadsden County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 24 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-16. They lost 17-6 to the Godby Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 33-5 on March 6th.

As for Godby, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-10. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

For Godby's part, they got a massive performance out of Patrick Garland, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Tytus Evans, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Gadsden County will take on Sneads at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Godby, they will face off against Munroe at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
