Softball Recap: Wellington Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Wellington won the last time they faced Viera and things went their way on Friday too. The Wolverines walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Hawks. The win was nothing new for the Wolverines as they're now sitting on six straight.

Cameron Vickers looked comfortable as she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Catalina Baronci, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Gabby D'Arcangelo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Wellington's record is now 8-3. As for Viera, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Wellington will take on Eau Gallie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Commodores have averaged an impressive 12.1 runs per game this season. As for Viera, they will face off against Palm Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
