Soccer Recap: Rantoul Comes Up Short

Rantoul's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monticello Sages. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Monticello this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 back in March.

Rantoul's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Monticello, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season.

Rantoul will face off against Herscher at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rantoul's defense better be ready for this one: Herscher have averaged an impressive 5.5 goals per game this season. As for Monticello, they will challenge Riverton/Tri-City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
