Baseball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Captain Shreve

Calvary Baptist Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Captain Shreve Gators by a score of 7-5 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cavaliers have suffered since March 26, 2024.

Calvary Baptist Academy got a good showing from Jack Testa, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Calvary Baptist Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Holmes, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Ashworth, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Baptist Academy will venture away from home to challenge Quitman at 5:00 p.m. on February 10th. As for Captain Shreve, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Tioga at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
