Volleyball Recap: Calvary Takes a Loss

Calvary lost against Mendon Unity back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Saints fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Calvary started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-14, 25-7.

Ainsley Johnson paced Calvary's offense, picking up 11 kills. Johnson were helped by Elesha Levine and Sophia McQuillan, who contributed 11 assists each. Finally, Johnson was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Calvary's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Mendon Unity, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-4 record this season.

Calvary didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Mt. Olive on the 25th. As for Mendon Unity, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Nokomis on the 25th.
