Baseball Recap: Lamar Has No Trouble Against West Fork

Lamar waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the West Fork Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Mason Sharp looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Lamar got a big performance out of Zaxton Aldridge, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one triple and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Marvel, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 4-5-1. As for West Fork, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Lamar will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Pottsville at 5:00 p.m. on the 30th. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Apaches have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for West Fork, they will welcome Greenland at 4:00 p.m. on the 30th. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.83 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
