Village had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers on Saturday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Mountaineers as they're now sitting on four straight.
Norah Hollis paced Village's offense, picking up 18 kills. Hollis got some help from Addison Miller and her 38 assists. Maiya Yeaton controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Village's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Montezuma-Cortez, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.
Village has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Prospect Ridge Academy on the 8th. Montezuma-Cortez does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
