Recap: Socastee Braves vs. Johnsonville Flashes
The Socastee Braves scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 67-9 blowout they got on the road against Johnsonville. That looming 67-9 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Socastee yet this season.
Anna Reese Pratt was the offensive standout of the matchup as she dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. She set a new season high mark in steals with three. Bri Smith was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
The victory (which was Socastee's third in a row) raised their record to 5-8. As for Johnsonville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Socastee and Christian Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Johnsonville, they will head out on the road to face off against Hannah-Pamplico at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hannah-Pamplico is on a five-game streak of home losses, Johnsonville an eight-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
