Volleyball Recap: Sarah Brand's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hubbard over Jefferson Area

It was a Battle of the Birds when Hubbard duked it out with Jefferson Area on Monday. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Falcons. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 17-25, 25-17.

Hubbard's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Brand, who had 20 digs. Another player making a difference was Emma TEtrick, who had 16 digs.

Hubbard's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Jefferson Area, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Hubbard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Struthers on the 16th. As for Jefferson Area, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Conneaut on the 16th.
