After a string of three wins, the Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology Colonials's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a hard 50-31 fall against Edison. While losing is never fun, Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Edison is ranked 36th).
Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anika Rhim, who scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Lee, who scored seven points.
Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Edison, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Mount Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Mount Vernon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Edison, they will head out on the road to challenge Justice at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
