The Gateway Charter Griffins lost against the Bishop Verot Vikings back in December of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Gateway Charter took a 54-39 bruising from Bishop Verot. The loss was Gateway Charter's first of the season.

Gateway Charter's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ellie Morin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maria Juantorena, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.

Gateway Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1-1. As for Bishop Verot, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gateway Charter will square off against East Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Verot, they will head out on the road to face off against Ida Baker at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Ida Baker focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday.
