Softball Game Preview: Cicero-North Syracuse Northstars vs. Liverpool Warriors

Cicero-North Syracuse is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Thursday. They will face off against the Liverpool Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Cicero-North Syracuse will be strutting in after a win while Liverpool will be coming in after a loss.

While Northstars fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Thursday's season opener. They put the hurt on Camden with a sharp 19-12 victory on Thursday.

Lily Hotaling looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Cicero-North Syracuse got a massive performance out of Aubrey Coyle, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave Coyle a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Erica Hibbard, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, Liverpool didn't have quite enough to beat Christian Brothers Academy on Monday and fell 4-2.
