Soccer Game Preview: Nixon vs. Mission

Nixon is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will take on the Mission Eagles at 8:00 p.m. Nixon will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Nixon proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by four) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Edinburg 2-1.

Alexander Cepeda and Edgar Mora scored both of Nixon's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Mission made sure to put some goals up on the board against Non Varsity Opponent on Friday. They put the hurt on Non Varsity Opponent with a sharp 5-1 victory.

Mission now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Nixon, their win bumped their record up to 4-2-1.

Nixon beat Mission by a goal in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, winning 1-0. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
