Basketball Game Preview: Newcastle Bobcats vs. Dodd City Hornets

The Newcastle Bobcats will face off against the Dodd City Hornets on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Newcastle is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Everything went their way against Forestburg as Newcastle made off with a 56-32 victory. The Bobcats are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 16 straight.

Meanwhile, Dodd City entered their tilt with Avery on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 49-17 win over the Bulldogs.

Dodd City's victory bumped their record up to 21-9. As for Newcastle, their win bumped their record up to 22-9.

Everything came up roses for Newcastle against Dodd City when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-26 victory. Will Newcastle repeat their success, or does Dodd City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
