Basketball Recap: Mansfield Tigers vs. Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes
The Mansfield Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 93-18 loss at the hands of Duncanville. While losing is never fun, Mansfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while the Panthers and Pantherettes are ranked first).
Duncanville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chloe Mann out in front who scored 19 points along with four steals. Mann is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Clayton, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Mansfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-21 record this season. As for Duncanville, their win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-4.
Mansfield will take on the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waxahachie and the Tigers are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Duncanville, they will head out on the road to take on the Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
